Programs for Churches

Description of Possible Author/Speaker Activities

Here are examples of some popular programs. If your church has other, specific requirements, contact me to tailor a program to suit your needs.

Parenting Class – author uses 20 years of parenting and 23 years teaching experience (BA/MA in Elementary Education) to discuss child development.  Topics include: 1) Find Prayer Partners, 2) Seek Out Mentors, Instill the Gospel, 3) Delegate and Post Family Rules, 4) Discipline, 5) Rites of Growing Up, 6) Helping your child become a good student: Literary Development and Mathematical Thinking, 7) Cognitive Development and Television

Time: 6 one hour classes or can be combined to suit needs

Story Time – author reads The Day Marcus Flew answering questions about her motivation in writing the book.  She then reads the newly written sequel, The Day Marcus Got a Dog, which has not completed the publishing process yet. Both stories are nonfiction and deal with faith and trusting God from a child’s perspective.

Grade Level:  K – 4, Story Time maximum: 150 (available with power point for large groups)

Time: 20 minutes

Testimony – author’s testimony focuses on overcoming obstacles as she shares some of the difficulties God has helped her triumph over.   “It is not important to be famous, but it is important to be the best God created YOU to be!  He has given each one of you unique gifts and talents.  Use them to glorify Him and help others...” This is the ideal message for congregations, conferences, Mother/Daughter Banquets, chapel time, etc.

Testimony Maximum: no limit

Time:  30 - 40 minutes with power point presentation

Included with all visits: Book Signing:  Books and CDs can be personally autographed creating a keepsake and souvenir of the author event.

Thank you for doing such a marvelous job with our students.  It really helps for students to actually see, step by step, how the writing process works.  My class really liked the pictures and stories that you told.
